Spray paint, acrylic, and charcoal on upcycled thrifted frame
Prints Available: 16×14 and 18×20
Original 29×31 ( Not Determined For Sale Yet)
This portrait of Tems was created in honor of her 2025 appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. She’s one of my all-time favorite artists, and this piece captures the strength, depth, and beauty she brings to her music. Painted on a previously used, thrifted wood panel, the artwork is part of my commitment to upcycling and reviving forgotten materials.
With vibrant spray paint, layered acrylics, and expressive charcoal strokes, I aimed to blend realism with raw emotion. The textured background pulses with the rhythm of the city, while her gaze draws you into a moment of reflection and power. This is more than a portrait, it’s a tribute to resilience, reinvention, and creative energy.
